Check where attribution resets across domains

Supply both sides of a real handoff—your site and checkout or hosted form—and see whether campaign parameters and click-ID persistence survive the boundary.

Starting URL

Supply both sides of the actual handoff. We open them in one isolated browser session and inspect campaign parameters and redacted attribution storage at the boundary.

This tool answers: Where do session and source identifiers reset across domains?

Enable JavaScript to run the check — the diagnosis itself is free and needs no account.

Why this happens

First-party cookies do not follow a visitor from your marketing site to a different checkout or form domain. If the handoff does not preserve the right identifiers, the conversion appears as Direct or loses its paid-click match.

The problem is particularly easy to miss because each domain can work perfectly on its own.

How this check works

So you can trust the result — and your developer can verify it.

  1. Use one isolated browser session

We open the two caller-supplied public URLs in sequence and record the boundary rather than guessing from a domain name.

  2. Compare parameters and redacted storage

The result compares campaign and click IDs in the URLs and reports storage keys, never their values.

Common causes and fixes

Query string stripped
A hosted provider or redirect may rebuild its destination URL without campaign parameters.
No destination tag
The new domain cannot read source-domain cookies and needs its own supported measurement configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Can this follow any checkout link automatically?
No. You explicitly supply both public URLs so the scan does not take arbitrary actions on a third-party site.
Does URL continuity prove attribution?
No. The destination still needs to capture the identifier at conversion time.
